Meet The Team
Greg Engelbrecht – President
Greg Engelbrecht graduated from California State University, Chico in 1987 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and minor in Marketing. Upon graduation, he began his career with Davis and Doran Advertising, a New York based firm with offices in both New York and London at that time.
When Davis and Doran sought to expand its operations to the West Coast, Greg played an integral part in assisting the company’s Vice President with the opening of the Santa Clara office, and again a year and half later with the opening of the Los Angeles office. During his tenure at Davis and Doran, Greg handled accounts such as Fujitsu, Knott’s Berry Farm, Varnet and Taco Bell.
In 1993, Greg returned to Chico to open his own full-service marketing and advertising agency, Engelbrecht Advertising. Since its inception, Engelbrecht Advertising has grown to be the largest advertising agency from Sacramento to the Oregon border, representing dozens of national and local clients such as R. W. Knudsen, Colusa Casino, Lares Dental, Black Bear Diner corporate franchise, Corning Ford and several North State casinos. Through a philosophy of honesty, integrity and trust, Greg has cultivated strong relationships within the community which serve as the backbone of his successful company.
Betsy Biermann – CFO
Betsy was born and raised in Napa Valley, California, where she attended Napa Junior College to play softball and major in accounting/office administration. During that time, she landed a position as an Office Administrator/Bookkeeper for a law firm in Napa. Betsy met her future husband Barry, who is a firefighter. In 1993, compelled by her husband’s love of the Chico area, they moved here permanently to start their family roots. Betsy began immediately working for a reputable law firm in town, all the while, raising two sons. After 26 years in the legal field, she was steered right into the arms of EA where she is excited to absorb the ins and outs of the marketing/advertising industry, along with managing the company’s finances. Although spending time with family is first and foremost for Betsy, volunteering in the community for different non-profit organizations, is just as important. Her true advocacy is keeping athletics alive and thriving in the school system, thus leading her to the position of Board President for one of Chico’s local high school Sports Booster organization. If she’s not playing sports with her family, you will find her fishing on the Sacramento River with her husband during Salmon Season, or maybe even decorating a room to feed her passion for interior design. One of Betsy’s personal mantra’s she lives by is: “There is always a solution to every problem, find that solution”.
